Kuta Beach

Administratively, it could be said that Kuta represents a district (Kecamatan) and a subdistrict/village (Kelurahan) in southern Bali, Indonesia. Kuta is an old fishing village, it was one of the first cities in Bali to see a major tourist development, and as a beach resort it remains one of the major tourist destinations in Indonesia.

The Kuta beach is internationally known for its varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars, and many famous surfers coming from Australia. is located near the Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali.

Kuta was the site of the first bombing of Bali on October 12, 2002 leaving a death toll of 202 and the second bombing of Bali on October 1, 2005 which left a death toll of 26. The Balinese provincial government has considered that the preservation of the culture, the natural resources and the fauna of Bali are of primary importance in the development of the island.

Kuta has a tourist development limited to the peninsula in the south end of the island; Kuta beach is in the western side of this peninsula and Sanur is in the east. To the north of the peninsula, no new tourist development is allowed.

To the south, Kuta Beach extends beyond the airport to Jimbaran.other nearby cities and towns include Seseh, Denpasar, Ujung, Pesanggaran, Kedonganan and Tuban.

Kuta Beach in Bali City

Currently Kuta is the center of a large tourism-oriented urban area that merges with neighboring cities.Legian, to the north, is the commercial center of Kuta and the site of many restaurants and entertainment venues. Most of the large beachfront hotels are located in the southern section of Tuban.

Legian and Seminyak are northern extensions of Kuta along Jl.Legian and Jl.Basangkasa. somewhat quieter suburbs with cottage-style accommodations, where many of the expatriates live.Also to the north are Petitenget, Berawa, Canggu and Seseh, new and quieter extensions of the Kuta beach. They are easy to reach through Abian Timbul or Denpasar and Kerobokan.

Several large hotels are located in this area: the Oberoi Bali, the Hard Rock Hotel Bali, the Intan Bali Village, the Legian in Petitenget, Dewata beach and the Bali Sani Suites in Berawa.

Kuta the big sandy beach

Kuta beach is on the west side of the narrow isthmus of the island. It is considered the most famous spa destination in Bali, the Kuta beach is also a few minutes away from the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban. The nearby resorts of Tuban, Legian and Seminyak are within walking distance.

Once a simple, rustic and quiet fishing village, Kuta Beach has witnessed a transformation in recent years due to the increase in various accommodation options, restaurants and shopping scenes.

A fairly hectic traffic scene has become commonplace here, yet Kuta Beach continues to attract thousands of visitors each year with its unique charm.
