Pandawa Beach

Pandawa Beach , known locally as Pantai Pandawa, is a great addition to the collection of beautiful beaches in Bali, located on the Bukit peninsula, south of Bali.

Pandawa Beach

Pandawa Beach is «hidden» behind large carved limestone cliffs that reveal extensive views of the Indian Ocean, Pandawa beach was also known as Secret Beach and was officially opened in 2012, quickly gaining popularity among local and international visitors.

In addition to its stunning natural panorama of white sand sea, blue sky and surf, Pandawa Beach is also best known for its stunning terrain and man-made limestone features that serve as a unique welcome in this coastal area.

Huge cliffs were cut to give way to their winding and smooth asphalt roads leading to the beach. The sides remained as high walls, while the cliffs facing the ocean halfway down have deeply carved arches installed with large statues.

Each one represents the heroes of the epic Mahabharata, known as Pandawa Lima or the five Pandawa s, hence the name of the beach.

There are six white stone statues wrapped in colourful Balinese curtains, namely Dewi Kunti, the mother figure of the epic, and the five heroes: Dharmawangsa (also known as Yudhistira), Bima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadewa. A single empty arch seems to give way to another planned character, either the father of the heroes, Pandu, or his second wife, Madri.

You can enjoy excellent photo opportunities here, both against the giants and against the picturesque far horizon and the stretch of Pandawa Beach 250 meters from this viewpoint.
