Kemala beach, also known as Polda beach, is one of the highlights in Balikpapan. It is known as Polda beach as this beach is administered by the Police Office (POLDA in Bahasa Indonesia) of East Borneo.
Kemala or Polda beach is located in the center of Balikpapan, near Jendral Sudirman Street. It is located at the edge of the road, but obstructed by office buildings made this tourist attraction not so conspicuous.

Being on Kemala Beach, you can really feel like you are in Bali when you are on this beach because the beach is made of soft white sand with calm waves and some shade is provided by coconut palms at the edge of the beach. There is also a restaurant on the beach with the style of a Balinese restaurant called D.Jimbaran Resto.
Kemala beach always has to offer visitors a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, so it is not surprising that this beach is often crowded because this beach is located in the center of Balikpapan city. Besides relaxing, unwinding and swimming, you can try one of the other activities here, such as the banana boat, jet skiing or flying fox.

Regarding the water attractions on this beach, the flying fox is reserved only for children.the banana boat is usually only available in the afternoon around 4 p.m.
There is no ticket office to buy banana boat tickets, just go to a person who seems to arrange or take care of a banana boat and tell them you want to ride it.
Playa Polda
This beach is located in Balikpapan city, it is a easy access site usually visited by locals to enjoy the sunset with friends or family, it is about 600 meters from the main street.
